Bioinformatics Position in the Marine Sciences Department at the University of Georgia
A position is available for a bioinformatician in support of genomic and metagenomic analyses of marine bacterial communities. Familiarity with bioinformatic methods, computer programming (Perl, BioPerl, and Java), and databases is necessary, and knowledge of Apache web server , Tomcat, and Linux administration will be helpful. Experience with sequence and next-generation sequence data processing is desirable. Completion of a M.S. degree in bioinformatics or related field is preferred; applicants with a B.S. and suitable experience will be considered.
